Email internet activity report
make the reports available to be emailed on a regular basis.
K 9 is great at blocking sites. But it need to have accountability reports that are sent out to partners. They have reports but they are not instantly sent to accountability partners.
I would like to see a feature where K9 would send an email if someone tries to access a blocked site.
To put in place an e-mailable accountability report with websites visited. Many people have asked for this. It can be difficult to summarise or set out a full list - but many people are asking.
I would love to see an automatic email to the email address of the administrator when the settings are changed, something that says "You logged in to your k9 settings and made the following changes."
send mail alerts to the registered mail ID as and when the blocked contents are tried to access.
Is there a way of getting emails sent every week with a summary of internet activity?
if someone tries to access something bad, no doubt they will find some blocked pages. if the user does this more than a certain number of times and for a certain category, it should email the admin. (and perhaps include what pages were tried to be accessed.)
only certain categories should do this, as popups will cause the admin to get emails daily...
I do not see a functionality to allow a friend to access your internet activity. This would be very helpful for self-monitoring individuals who could be accountable to a friend.
Allow administrator to receive instant email message when selected sites or blocked categories are being accessed. Would keep most people from even trying to access them. Thanks for a great program :)
Logs can be deleted if you end the K9 process in task manager a few times until it stops re-starting, then deleting the log files. So as other available apps, that you must pay for, have that option to send instant notifications if proxy are being bypassed or restricted websites are tried to be accessed. Would keep most people from even trying to bypass filter.
get a detailed activity report by email on a weekly base
A lot of these filtering programs offer weekly or monthly reports to be emailed to another person. This helps hold the Filter user accountable to someone outside the home, for further deterrent. Our church has a large mens group that does this. Each user has his report sent to another person to hold them accountable for attempts to view objectionable material. We wish K9 had a feature like this.
have an option to email sites that are being accessed so that those can be stopped without having to look into the logs and change passwords frequently. Also make it harder to get around thru the back door and say you forgot the password so someone can get a temp passsword to unblock sites that are inappropriate.
it would be great if a parent or a friend can get an email or text immediately when X pages are blocked within a timespan. not only block everything for X minutes....it would be obvious when a child tries to find gaps in the system.
I recommend an email to be sent notifying the administrator whenever someone logs into the bypass site/ or to the administrator pages. This would be good notification for compromised passwords
Since K9 already stores the web history this would be easy to be done. In this way, the parent can set an option where k9 simply emails the web history. Children, may be able to view the net freely just knowing that whatever web they visited is known to their parent. Thank you.
It will be great for us to have an e-mail alert every time the K9 Protection blocks a website. This Way we could know the websites that are most dangerous for the kids and so, we can block them permanently. Please do it. I think everybody will thank you if you do that. And thanks for the great service you provide. Greeting.
i suggest we add k9 wiht a link to emails so there will be no delteting of such. and will have another way of checking it. life is busy.
Sería una buena opción para chequear que páginas están viendo....

It would be nice to get email and/or text alerts if someone is trying to visit an inappropriate site.
To immediately send email to the administrator/email address when a blocked site is visited
Hi, Your product seems to be great as it quietly does it's work behind the scenes. The only component that is missing is the accountability reports. Instead of somebody logging into the computer and checking the logs, it would be easier if an activity log is sent to an accountability partner.
If you want to use K9 on more than one Pc, it would be more convenient if the activity logs could be emailed to the administraornon a month by month basis
Would be nice to have the admin get an email alert when a blocked site is accessed. Otherwise the admin has to check if blocked sites are trying to be accessed.
for muti-PC instalations, it would be nice to have an export of some type for the log so it can be viewed centraly.
It would be very useful if this software could send a email when a user tries to enter a blocked website. Or send a email rapport every week or whatever the administrator need to know. Or even easier start a user defined program/script everytime you enter a website.
This is a feature we are investigating for a future release of K9.

ABSOLUTELY YES !
Such a feature is crucially important for so many users and it's somehow the only thing that's still missing for K9 to be top of the top. Please make this possible!
Please make this available. I really need this
If all previous 127 comments haven't already said it... GET YOUR STUFF TOGETHER K9! WE NEED THIS!!!!
Please give us an idea of when this critical feature will become available. Its also worth setting up so *only" the accountability partners has access to settings. This completely removes any temptation by the user.

What is taking so long. How hard can it be to implement sending a report to email? Its been under review since 2011. Four years!
Very much would like to see it.
K9 Web Protection,
This looks like an essential feature for a lot of users, myself included.
It is also the second most requested feature on this community.
What would it take to add this feature?
Bump - this is an essential feature

Yep, email reports sent to multiple accounts is what is missing. If there is any hope for building accountability using this software, this must be added. If this involves more servers and thus more money, ask people to donate. I know I would.
Yes! Please add this...
Please do allow this feature, so a "plain English" report of internet activity can be emailed to several different email addresses. It would be a big help to us as parents to be able to get the report on our own computers.
This is very discouraging that there hasn't been any updates for over a year and a half. Such a good piece of software! Please give us this feature! This program would beat covenant eyes by far if it had this feature.
When I signed up for K-9, I was required along with my own to put in a friend's email address. Why? At first, I thought I was doing this so that my friend would receive an emailed link to my activity report. Last night, I found out that he was not receiving reports. I'm disappointed. I now see that accountability reporting is NOT a feature, but you are "investigating for a future release of K9. That was 2011. Welcome to the future. It's 2014. Please give us an update!
When is this feature coming? It is really the only thing missing from K9!!
This is the only feature that K9 needs to be the best filter on the market. I am a paid business user with 10 licenses that is leaving because this is a necessary feature for me.
This is a much needed feature. How is it that this has not been added. It's been under review for over 3 years?!?
I would love to see this ability enabled

Yes, that's a really great idea. Please develop this feature, I would even be willing to pay only for such a feature.

This is such a must feature! There are several open source emailing modules, on source forge for instance, that I bet you guys could incorporate without too much hassle.
This feature would just cause K9 to blow everyone else out of the watery web!
Thanks for all you guys do
