Add Support for Multiple User Profiles
Currently, K9 Web Protection will apply the same filtering policy for all user profiles configured on your computer. This feature is to add different filtering rules for each user.
This is a feature we are investigating for a future release of K9.

This is the difference maker. The main feature K9 is missing.

Have to add my voice to the chorus, this is a deal breaker for me! As others have already stated I'd happily pay a reasonable price for this product if it had this feature.

Hello K9. Thank you for your excellent software and for providing it free. I am in the same boat as many other families, with children in a wide range of ages. I saw a thread from 2006 saying that K9 was looking into a multiple user feature in the upcoming release. It reflects poorly on your company to say that you plan to provide this in the future and never provide it. It's been at least 7 years and counting. This feature would be great for the home user. Thanks.

This is the reason I'm uninstalling K-9 at this time. The interface is great, but I'm looking for something so I can allow my son to log onto the internet for school purposes on his own profile while mine is still unaffected. While the supervisor mode did help, it's really only a temporary shift.

This is a feature I really liked about Norton Family Online. This is a must have in a very near future release!

If this was set up in the form of a proxy server that would be awesome!!

We have 3 kids, 17, 11 and 3 years old. I have configured the computer to have 3 different users. One for our 17 year old, other for the underage kids and the one we use as parents.
Is there a way to configure the k9 so that we can free the sites needed for our 17 year old without giving away the password? While maintaining the restrictions to our other 2 kids?
Many thanks for all your support with this great software!!
Kind regards, -

Would love to use this program on my PC but can't because the filter applies to all user profiles. As soon as this issue is resolved, I will utilize and recommend K9 to others. As for now, I have to disable this program on my PC and look for something else. I do use this program for my son's ipod touch and think its very good.

Please incorporate this feature sooner than later because that is the only thing stopping me from using this product.

Hi
Please make this your number one top priority please. For those of us without a PC each this is a major disadvantage of K9.

This must-have feature is theoretically easy to implant... Developers may use the system variable %USERNAME% on each login to specify different profiles... and as to prevent hacking attempts, the returned value of the username should be encrypted... Will be waiting :)

Definitely! We have one computer for 2 people (my wife and my daughter) and I cannot put all the safeguards I want on my daughter's profile because it affects also my wife's profile.
In cases like this K9 is not very useful... -

Alternatively, a way to enter/leave Supervisor mode via script would work, since I could just put that script into the startup folder of the appropriate users.

Is the multiple user configuration (for a Mac) available now? I want a very restricted browser environment for a child (whitelist only), while allowing more freedom for other user logins.
